Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

SUMMARY:

Promotes Campus Stores sales by providing high quality customer service; demonstrates knowledge of products and services; is responsive to customer needs. Works efficiently as a team member, taking initiative to perform tasks, resolve problems and ensure a successful outcome.ย 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DEPENDING ON LOCATION:

  • Have enthusiasm and interest for computers and technology.

  • Focus to become knowledgeable on all Aztecnology department store products.

  • Enroll and train on Apple SEED app minimally attaining 1000 points per month.

  • Greets customers and offers assistance according to standard procedures.

  • Answers inquiries, provides information and interacts with customers according to established guidelines.

  • Answers telephone inquiries and correctly reroutes calls when appropriate.

  • Daily functions include operating the cash register and working on the sales floor.

  • Processes cash and credit card transactions on registers.

  • Balances the cash drawer at the end of shift.

  • Handle product returns/exchanges according to store policies.

  • Stock/restock of inventory and replenish Bookstore items.

  • Maintains clean work area and equipment.

  • Uses interpersonal skills to build customer confidence.

  • Maintains positive working relationships with customers, co-workers and supervisors.

  • Assists other departments as needed.

  • Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The minimum requirement for applicants is a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree; with one or more yearsโ€™ retail/customer service experience is preferred. Related experience and/or training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Strong communication and interpersonal skill are required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS:ย 

Must be able to read, write and understand English. Requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines and objectives. Requires the ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees using good voice quality that is conversational and professional.

ย 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:ย 

Requires basic math skills with the ability to count in ascending or descending order.ย  Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

REASONING ABILITY:ย 

Requires the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instruction.

MANUAL DEXTERITY:

Requires the ability to use a variety of equipment such as a cash register, a phone, a computer and a calculator.ย 

PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION:ย 

Must have the ability to talk/expressing and/or exchanging ideas and hear/perceiving sounds.ย 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:ย ย 

Must be able to operate cash registers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand for prolonged hours; handles and reaches for objects. Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 35 pounds.ย 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS

Work is regularly performed in both a traditional office setting and open sales floor workspace. There may be exposure to airborne particles created from incoming boxes, merchandise and textbooks.ย  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.ย  This position requires on-site presence due to the scope of the duties, and it would not be eligible for remote work.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs. This may include opening, mid-day, and closing shifts, as well as night shifts, weekends, and holidays throughout the year.

A background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is extended by the company and accepted by the applicant and must be satisfactorily completed prior to any applicant beginning work in a full-time, part-time non-student, or sensitive student capacity with Aztec Shops Ltd.ย
