Goldberg Segalla is a national civil litigation law firm that represents major national and regional companies and insurance carriers in all aspects of business counseling, risk assessment and dispute resolution including representation in various types of claims, controversies and litigation involving personal and other injuries, property damage, contract disputes and business torts. While our Am Law 200 and Chambers ranked firm employs more than 1,000 people, we operate as one tight-knit and highly collaborative team. Goldberg Segalla has an immediate opportunity for a Workers' Compensation Paralegal in our Raleigh, NC office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Outlook, TEAMS, Calendar, andExcel. Coordinate Independent Medical Examinations to assist with defense of claim. Analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy.

Assist attorney with defense of workers' compensation claims. Conduct legal research related to workers' compensation laws and regulations. Daily management of billable time entries.

Professionally and tactfully communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers and attorneys to relay information and defend claims. Collect and analyze documents and information to assist with litigation. Knowledge of legal documents and terminology relates to Workers' Compensation.

Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with firm policies. Ability to jump into an existing caseload and move cases forward. Prepare pertinent documents and substantive correspondences.

Provide status reports and recommendations to attorney(s) throughout all stages of litigation. Save all emails, documents and filings in the document management system. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree or higher, +3 years of experience, paralegal certification preferred. Workers' Compensation experience preferred. Clear communication and information exchange in English.

Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to observe and assess data and documents in printed form and on computer screens. Willingness to work beyond normal hours.

Team-oriented with the ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision. Ability to respond and maintain confidentiality of information or adversarial inquiries. Benefits: This position also offers bonuses and a full benefits package.
