Description
Support staff within the Homeland Security Division of the Marion County Sheriff's Office that will assist Deputies and members of the public with screening procedures and monitoring the facilities secured by the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Examples of Duties
Assist with screening of members of the public and employees when entering facility
Utilize metal detector and/or hand wand
Retain knowledge of items not permitted within facility and confiscate items when located
Monitor all activity in the facility entryways and hallways
Verify identity of personnel entering facility with identification cards
Identify employee parking passes
Assist with traffic control procedures within facility garage and/or parking areas
Communicate with deputies, co-workers, and supervising staff via radio communication
Assist with evacuation of facilities during emergency
Assist with various additional tasks as directed by the Sheriff
Typical Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age
Must be have High School Diploma or GED
Must successfully pass a complete background check, including but not limited to criminal history check
Must successfully complete required training
Must be able to retain knowledge of policy and procedures
Must possess strong verbal communication skills
