Job Objective:

Responsible for assisting the Manager of Revenue Integrity in maintaining EMC's Charge Master to assure regulatory and billing compliance for Medicare and all other third party payors. Maintains the charge master assurance of pricing integrity and adherence to EMC's pricing policies.

Education:

Required: High school diploma, GED or higher level degree

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in finance, healthcare or related degree
Licensure/Certification:
Required: Epic build certification within 6 months of hire into position

Preferred: Coding certification
Experience:
Required: Three (3) years of Charge Master, Patient Financial Services, Coding experience or Epic Build experience relating to Revenue Cycle

Reports To: Manager of Revenue AnalyticsSupervises: N/A Ages of Patients: N/ABlood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Ability to operate general office equipment (i.e., computer, printer, scanner, telephone, etc.), Must have initiative to research and resolve issues independently, Must possess excellent listening and problem resolution skills, Must possess understanding of the Government reimbursement, Understanding of medical terminology, managed care terminology, and CPT/ICD9 coding, Written and verbal communication skills

Essential Responsibilities

1.Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.2.Manages the maintenance of daily, monthly and fiscal year-end, changes and deletes to the hospital charge master.3.Participate in various operational areas which effect reimbursement maximization, billing compliance and financial risk management.4.Works with clinical department personnel, financial planning, information systems and billing to coordinate charge master updates.5.Stays current with and interprets organizational impact of state or federal charge, coding, and reimbursement changes.6.Work closely with Patient Financial Services Revenue Cycle Billing Manger to ensure Charge Master coding and billing requirements remain current.7.Develops and maintains Charge Master policies and procedures to ensure accurate and current Charge Master maintenance.8. Monitor Revenue and Charge Capture Reports for possible missed opportunities.9.Participate in appropriate conferences, meetings to stay current with Charge Master maintenance issues.10.Assist Controller in complying with the organization-wide charge pricing policy.11.Provide Charge Master database ad hoc analysis and reports as requested.12.Provide problem resolution related to charging issues for assigned (as Revenue Custodian).13.Coordinates educational webcast sessions for revenue cycle areas.14.Performs other duties as assigned.
