Job description

Job title :         Schedule Planner

Client :             Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration :        12 months

Location :        Davenport, IA 52809

Shift :               1st Shift position (6am – 3pm)
Role Overview
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating complex manufacturing processes across multiple work centers.
  • Ensures timely availability of materials and alignment with production schedules.
  • Supports production efficiency through inventory control, kanban planning, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Works closely with fabrication, engineering, and operations teams to meet production and delivery goals.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule production and service parts based on manufacturing requirements
  • Coordinate and expedite production and purchased parts to meet timelines
  • Manage material flow using production systems (kanban, triggers, delivery schedules)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for engineering and material changes
  • Analyze future production needs including workforce and machine capacity planning
  • Maintain and calculate kanban quantities for efficient inventory flow
  • Audit inventory accuracy and manage scrap reporting
  • Support implementation of production schedules in laser cutting and forming operations
  • Provide work direction or supervision when required
  • Perform administrative and reporting tasks for the department

Must Have

  • Experience in production scheduling or material planning in manufacturing environment
  • Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data handling)
  • Understanding of production systems (kanban, scheduling, inventory control)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills (working with shop floor, engineers, supervisors)
  • Experience working on shop floor / manufacturing environment (highly important – 75% floor exposure)

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field
  • SAP experience
  • Experience in fabrication operations (laser cutting, forming)
