Job description

We are hiring an Outbound Call Center Representative to join our established insurance agency in Great Neck, New York.


This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is motivated, personable and ready to work. No insurance experience or license is required. We provide the training, call lists, scripts and coaching needed to succeed.


Your primary responsibility will be calling existing customers, former customers and new business leads provided by the agency. You will confirm whether they are interested in receiving an insurance quote and connect interested prospects directly with one of our experienced sales representatives.


The process is simple, but success requires energy, consistency and a willingness to make a high volume of calls every day. You will be expected to master our scripts, follow our proven process and make hundreds of outbound dials each day.


Compensation includes an hourly wage, a bonus for each qualified transfer and additional bonuses when a transferred prospect purchases a policy.


For the right person, this position can become the beginning of a long-term career in the insurance and financial services industry. Team members who perform well may have the opportunity to advance into a licensed customer service or sales position. We provide and pay for the necessary training and licensing.


Our agency has served the Great Neck community for 19 years and currently sells and services insurance throughout New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.


This is an in-office position at our Great Neck location.

Responsibilities
  • Make a high volume of outbound calls to agency-provided leads and customer lists
  • Contact existing customers, former customers and prospective new customers
  • Use agency-provided scripts to introduce the purpose of the call and confirm interest
  • Transfer interested and qualified prospects to senior sales representatives
  • Learn, practice and master the agencys call scripts and processes
  • Accurately document calls, outcomes, transfers and follow-up information
  • Meet daily and weekly expectations for call activity and qualified transfers
  • Respond positively to coaching, feedback and ongoing training
  • Maintain a friendly, confident and professional attitude on every call
  • Follow all agency procedures and customer privacy requirements
  • Work closely with the sales team to improve transfer quality and results

Requirements
  • No previous insurance experience required
  • Previous sales, telemarketing, call center, customer service or appointment-setting experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, engaging personality
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound phone calls
  • Self-motivated and able to remain productive without constant supervision
  • Competitive, goal-oriented and motivated by performance-based bonuses
  • Willing to follow scripts, accept coaching and consistently apply feedback
  • Persistent and able to handle rejection without becoming discouraged
