Overview
The Business Development Coordinator provides business development support across designated practice areas, industry teams, and client teams. The BD Coordinator is expected to work across departmental and geographic lines to support revenue-generating opportunities.

Responsibilities
Work alongside senior leadership to support and coordinate activities for designated practice areas and initiatives, including:
  • BD Execution Support - Support execution of pitches, proposals, RFPs, and marketing materials. Coordinate timelines, gather experience and matter information, assist with drafting/editing, and ensure materials align with firm messaging and positioning.
  • Experience Management & Rankings - Maintain deal and matter descriptions within experience management systems and support reporting initiatives. Assist with legal directory submissions, including experience collection, drafting support, interview preparation coordination, and tracking.
  • Practice Development & Thought Leadership Support - Support execution of thought leadership initiatives, including articles, alerts, podcasts, webinars, surveys, and related content. Coordinate with relevant teams to move content from concept to publication. Maintain representative matters, practice descriptions, attorney bios, website content, and other client-facing materials.
  • Conference & External/Internal Event BD Support - Serve as a day-to-day BD support liaison for conferences and events, partnering with relevant teams on event coordination, messaging, speaker coordination, attendee outreach, RSVP management, partner communications, and post-event follow-up efforts.
  • Strategic Targeting, CRM & Relationship Support - Support development and maintenance of target lists, CRM/database accuracy, relationship tracking, and meeting preparation materials. Conduct research and develop background materials on target firms, investors, and market participants to support outreach, relationship-development efforts, follow-up activity, and broader business development initiatives.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting - Assist with competitive intelligence requests, market research, reporting, and tracking tied to strategic initiatives. Support identification of cross-selling opportunities and prospective targets through research and reporting tools.
  • Business Development & Team Support - Assist with implementation of business plans, initiative tracking, internal communications, agendas, follow-up items, and recurring reporting tied to attorney requests and broader BD initiatives.
  • Special Projects & Teamwork - Handle special projects and department initiatives as assigned. Work collaboratively across disciplines and geographies, foster collegiality among BD professionals, and support cross-training efforts to promote bandwidth flexibility and professional development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in marketing, business development, events, communications, or a related field; law firm or professional services experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage several priorities, shifting deadlines, and time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work products.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across attorneys, clients, vendors, and business professionals.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, including willingness to support colleagues across focus areas.
  • Ability to think strategically, understand broader business development objectives, and adapt to shifting priorities and business needs.
  • Experience with CRM systems including DealCloud, experience databases including Foundation, and other business development technology platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and related marketing/business development technologies.
  • Interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies, within firm-approved guidelines, to drive efficiency and support business development initiatives; experience with Harvey or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally in support of conferences and events.
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, client-service-oriented professional services environment, including flexibility to support periodic peak workload periods tied to pitches, events, conferences, rankings submissions, and other key initiatives.
  • Interest in corporate transactions, private equity, fund formation, financial services, or related professional services industries is a plus.
