Job Summary:

The Beverage Manager reports to the General Manager andis responsible foroverseeing all beverage operations, including bar standards, inventory, cost control, scheduling, training, and execution. With oversight from the General Manager and Beverage Director, this role manages day-to-day beverage functions including menu execution, staff development, marketing initiatives, and financial performance.

In addition to beverage leadership, the Beverage Manager actively supports daily restaurant operations and collaborates with the management team to ensure a seamless guest experience across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Train, coach, and develop bartenders and barbacks to ensure consistent execution of beverage standards.

  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing bar staff.

  • Foster a high-performance, service-driven bar team culture.

  • Communicate menu changes, updates, and specials to bar staff and management.

  • Support and promote staff incentive and engagement programs.

Operations &Beverage Execution:

  • Drive and enforce service standards for the Bar Department.

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all beverage offerings.

  • Ensure steps of service are consistently met and executed.

  • Oversee cocktail preparation, ensuring correct recipes, measurements, and ingredients are used.

  • Ensure correct product usage as specified by the Beverage Director and approved menus.

  • Maintain proper back bar, well placement, and overall bar setup.

  • Ensure bar cleanliness, organization, and adherence to brand standards.

  • Ensureall opening and closing duties are completed consistently.

  • Communicate86'ditems promptly to management and relevant teams.

Inventory, Labor & Cost Management:

  • Maintain full responsibility and accountability for beverage cost performance.

  • Perform andsubmitaccuratemonthly beverage inventories.

  • Oversee liquorroomorganization, security, and product flow.

  • Manage ordering, receiving, and invoice documentation.

  • Ensure safekeeping and organization of invoices and inventory records.

  • Monitor comps, voids, spills, and variances on an ongoing basis.

  • Create and manage schedules for bartenders and barbacks.

  • Monitor labor efficiency, breaks, and overtime to remain within targets.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Communicate staffing needs, changes, and unexpected coverage issues to the management team.

  • Relay menu updates and beverage changes clearly to staff and leadership.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Beverage Director on beverage initiatives and improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of management or supervisory experience in an upscale or full-service restaurant environment.

  • Previoushospitality experience with a strong passion for service and guest experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beverage operations.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Basic computerproficiencyrequired.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays,special events, and overtime as needed.

  • Knowledge of industry health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

  • Ability to make decisions quickly and perform under pressure.

  • Ability tolift upto 50 pounds and perform frequent bending and reaching.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.

  • Regular handling of alcoholic beveragesrequired.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
