The 2nd Shift Lead Batcher/Compounder is responsible for overseeing the preparation and production of batches according to CMS instructions, ensuring cleanliness and sanitization of the batching area, and maintaining overall compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role involves mentoring compounders, organizing supplies, and facilitating communication between shifts to ensure operational alignment.

Key Responsibilities:Batch Preparation:

Make batches according to CMS instructions.

Ensure accurate measurement and mixing of ingredients.

Cleaning and Sanitization:

Maintain cleaning and sanitization records.

Ensure overall cleanliness and maintenance of the batching area during the 2nd shift.

Handle the cleaning and sanitization of totes, drums, and pails.

Inspect and review the cleaning and sanitization of equipment assuring procedures are being followed per the SOP.

Bulk Shipment Orders:

Follow up on and adhere to bulk shipment orders.

Ensure timely and accurate processing of orders.

Set up for Next Shift:

Prepare the equipment and material needed for the following day including:

  • Loading the USP water in the vessels
  • Set up the pumps and equipment needed for the batches.
  • Preparing side phases as needed
  • Staging all materials needed for the next day.
  • Oversee the weighing of the batches and finalize the batching orders in the system.
    • Mentoring and Training:

    Mentor and provide guidance to compounders and cleaners in the shift.

    Conduct SOP training sessions to stay current with training.

    Ensure team members are knowledgeable and compliant with SOPs.

    Supplies Organization:

    Organize and maintain supplies.

    Ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.

    Communication and Alignment:

    Facilitate communication between the 1st and 2nd shifts.

    Ensure operational alignment and smooth transition between shifts.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in a related field is a plus.

    Proven experience in compounding or a related role.

    Strong understanding of CMS instructions and SOPs.

    Excellent organizational and communication skills.

    Ability to mentor and train team members.

    Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
