Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION - Chemical Blender

Location: Southwest Houston Area

Position Summary:

The Chemical Blender is responsible for blending and mixing various chemical formulations using a blend sheet.

Essential Functions:

  • Operating Liquid Blending equipment
  • Following specific instruction and recipes for combining of materials to produce various products
  • Monitoring blending process to ensure the product conforms to exact specifications and reporting any quality issues, variances or deviations from the required product
  • Operating fork lift as well as smaller motorized and manual hand trucks
  • Store and retrieve materials located within the warehouse
  • Maintain work areas and equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Sampling of materials/product and communication with lab personnel for approval/denial of products
  • Additional duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Experience in a blending or chemical handling environment is also strongly desired.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good physical condition, able to wear appropriate protective equipment (PPE)
  • Able to work in extreme temperatures
  • DOT Hazmat certification is desirable
  • Spill Response Training is desirable
  • Good Understanding of chemical hazards and safety
  • Ability to perform routine linear calculations and other basic math skills
  • Familiar with basic blending concepts and equipment such as pumps, valves, and kettles.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Type of Assignment:

  • Temp – hire

Shift Schedule:

Monday – Friday 7am-4pm

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
