Job description

Are you ready to take your automotive buying experience in the auto industry to the next level? Drive N-Motion is seeking an energetic and motivated Vehicle Auction Buyer to join our team full-time. This position requires our automotive buyers to inspect and purchase vehicles that will be assigned to a retail customer buying audience for multiple Drive N-Motion retail sales centers. Additionally, you will maintain relationships with auction team members, auctioneers and vehicle sale representatives who represent selling platforms across multiple locations. Read on to learn more!
As a Vehicle Auction Buyer you are the main resource for providing quality inventory to multiple Drive N-Motion retail sales centers. Your developed understanding of vehicle appraisals and evaluation shifts in wholesale pricing strategies are of utmost importance. Responsiveness and communication with your assigned Inventory/Operations team leads is also critical to your success as a Vehicle Auction Buyer. A large portion of your day will be spent previewing, inspecting and appraising vehicles at auctions in addition to following up with multiple departments across the company related to inventory control metrics when called upon. This position may also require you to represent and remarket wholesale scheduled vehicles among multiple markets.
As a Vehicle Auction Buyer you will be will be paid a designated flat rate per vehicle that is paid out monthly after a wash-out review of purchased inventory that was designated for retail sale opportunity versus vehicles that were sent back to wholesale channels has been completed.
We give our buyers the tools, support, and freedom to maximize their earnings potential. Our retail sales centers are selling over 200 vehicles each month which gives our inventory buying team steady earnings potential. Inventory Auction Buyers typically purchase 15-30 vehicles each week and can see up monthly income levels surpass $12,000 when buying volume is maxed out.
WHAT DOES A VEHICLE AUCTION BUYER DO?
As a Vehicle Auction Buyer for Drive N-Motion, you are an invaluable member of our team. Each day, you work to source quality inventory in your assigned region by adding valuable and highly sought after vehicles to our retail sales centers. You will be required to source vehicles and achieve target goals related to all buying related direction and weekly focus shifts. You also work closely with auction personnel and upper level management to strengthen relationships and achieve success.
In addition, you are provided access to multiple vehicle evaluation systems and auction platforms that will help you maximize your success. As a people person and someone who is passionate about the auto industry, you enjoy building relationships with all wholesale partner outlets and enjoy the fast pace of the auction and online trading platform atmospheres!
YOUR HOURS AS A VEHICLE AUCTION BUYER
This position requires you to attend auctions on a daily basis by arriving up to 2 hours before the auction is open to successfully preview and inspect vehicles that are assigned to your workbook by a member of our inventory and operations team leads. Some travel to other markets may be required depending on inventory sourcing needs and other team member availability. No weekend work will be needed!
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
To be successful in this automotive buying role, you'll need strong communication, negotiation, and sales skills. We're also looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced auction environment. You'll also need to have great interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a variety of personality types. To be considered for this role you must meet these preferred qualifications:
  • 2-5 years Wholesale / Auto industry auction buying experience is required
  • Knowledge of wholesaling, appraisal experience, auctions required
  • Auto industry buyer experience required
