Job description

Company:

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

Job Area:

Sales, Business Development & Marketing Group, Sales, Business Development & Marketing Group > Marketing

General Summary:

The Strategic Alliances organization within Marketing is bringing together Partner Marketing, Sponsorships, Snapdragon Insiders and Regional and Executive Engagement under a unified ecosystem strategy. This role serves as the strategic and operational backbone of Strategic Alliances.

This is a builder role at the intersection of strategy, operations, and partner ecosystem design. This role will help define how the organization works: shaping structure, clarifying priorities, establishing operating rhythms, and ensuring strategic initiatives translate into measurable business impact. This role requires someone that brings structure to ambiguity, elevates decision‑making, manage competing priorities and incentives, and enables teams to move faster and more cohesively across a complex, matrixed environment.

What You’ll Drive

Strategic Leadership & Organization Design

  • In collaboration with the Vice President, define the vision, structure, and operating model for a newly formed, Strategic Alliances, including partner segmentation, engagement models, and value exchange frameworks.
  • Serve as an extension of the VP—supporting strategic planning, executive communications, narratives/updates, and leadership readiness.
  • Help define and institutionalize clear charters, roles and responsibilities across all Strategic Alliances (Partner Marketing, Sponsorships and Snapdragon Insiders and).
  • Drive follow‑through on critical initiatives by orchestrating stakeholders, tracking progress, and resolving roadblocks.

Executive and Regional Engagement

  • Lead North America marketing – create the NA marketing strategic plan in tight alignment with NA business priorities; own the relationship with NA leadership, orchestrating cross-functional alignment, event visibility, partner requests, budget coordination, executive engagements and additional business priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C‑suite and regional executives, coordinating and updating key business priorities, executive communications, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to ensure alignment and execution against organizational goals.

Performance Management & Operational Rigor

  • Define and institutionalize KPIs, success metrics, and operational dashboards across all Strategic Alliances’ disciplines.
  • Establish a clear cadence for business reviews and capture learnings and continuously improve how the organization operates as it scales.
  • Establish measurement frameworks that articulate partnership impact, ROI, and contribution to business outcomes.
  • Synthesize insights from KPIs, partner performance, and regional insights to inform future strategy and investment decisions

Why This Role Is Critical & Why it Matters

This role will help define the foundation and success of Strategic Alliances. Rather than inheriting a mature organization, you will help build the operating system—how our biggest investments and partnerships are prioritized, executed, and scaled globally. The impact will be felt not just within Marketing, but across Qualcomm’s broader ecosystem of partners, platforms, and customers.

Leadership Competencies

  • Strategy & Integration: Defines and communicates a compelling Strategic Alliances Ecosystem strategy and orchestrates integration
  • Growth Mindset: ability to focus on identifying synergistic opportunities, shared success and long‑term value creation across key ecosystem partners
  • Cross‑company influence: Builds trusted partnerships across BUs, Sales, Regions and Marketing teams; navigates deftly in matrixed environments.
  • Executive communication: ability to clearly articulate opportunities, challenges, and recommendations to C‑suite level stakeholders
  • Operational Excellence: Implements scalable processes, governance, and measurement.
  • Innovation Mindset: Integrates emerging AI as part of the team to elevate outcomes.

This is an office-based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.

This is a U.S. based position and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 10+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
  • *Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and communicating complex co‑marketing strategies with measurable results.
  • Proven experience leading matrixed teams and driving change to maximize impact to the business
  • Strong executive presence; ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate business objectives into co‑marketing strategy.
  • Strong understanding of the technology industry, particularly in areas relevant to Qualcomm's business (e.g., mobile, IoT, automotive).
  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and a data‑driven approach to decision‑making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, and highly matrixed global environment.
  • Ability to lead a high performing team

In addition to experience, the successful candidate will have demonstrated competencies in the following areas:

Impactful Innovation: Inspires team members and external stakeholders with innovative ideas. Creates new opportunities and focuses on impact.
