We're dedicated to improving homes, improving lives, and improving our team. We're currently seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our growing HR and Finance team. Job Summary As a Payroll Specialist, you'll be responsible for processing multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees. You'll ensure accurate compensation, maintain payroll records, and support benefits administration. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems, and people in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities: Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll Maintain and audit payroll records for accuracy and compliance Administer employee benefits including health insurance, PTO, 401(k), and FSA/HSA Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies Prepare payroll reports and assist with journal entries for accounting Manage wage garnishments, benefit deductions, and tax filings Assist with onboarding, terminations, and new hire payroll setup Support year-end processing including W-2s and 1099 forms Collaborate with HR on employee events, open enrollment, and compliance tracking Required Qualifications: 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax laws High attention to detail and confidentiality Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills Preferred: Experience in benefits administration Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, or related field What We Offer: Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) plan with company match Paid time off and paid holidays Professional development and tuition assistance A collaborative, inclusive workplace culture Schedule: Monday to Friday Day shift Standard business hours (typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Education: Associate (Required) Experience: Payroll: 2 years (Required) Benefits administration: 1 year (Preferred) Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred) Microsoft Office: 2 years (Preferred) Ability to Commute: West Des Moines, IA 50265 (Required) Work Location: In person
