Job description

Assistant Payroll Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
• High volume of data extraction/review/analysis to assist in processing weekly payroll for the company.
• Data extraction/entry for weekly operational reports.
• Provide verbal and/or correspondence assistance to internal leadership and subcontractors/vendors to resolve discrepancies or inadequacies in their submitted payroll.
• Validation of employee time, review of processed files for accuracy, and corrections as needed.
• Perform other related activities and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Experience with using excel (exposure to Tables/Pivot Tables highly preferred)
• Strong communication skills
• Strong, detail-oriented work ethic a must. Self-starter with a well-honed sense of urgency and the ability to regularly meet deadlines
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction payroll preferred
• JD Edwards experience is a plus
• Understanding of entry level accounting.
• Knowledge of wage labor laws and union labor compliance is a plus
