Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Underwriter to support our underwriting team in managing policy administration, submission processing, and renewal activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate handling of underwriting transactions while maintaining strong service standards for brokers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage the underwriting inbox, ensuring timely review and distribution of correspondence.
  • Request and track loss runs to support underwriting evaluations and renewal reviews.
  • Prepare and issue policy endorsements accurately and within established service standards.
  • Submit new business and renewal accounts for clearance and verify that clearance procedures have been completed correctly.
  • Prepare and issue binders and policy documentation following underwriting approval.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding binder subjectivities to ensure all requirements are received and documented.
  • Maintain and update renewal tracking spreadsheets and underwriting reports.
  • Assist underwriters with administrative and operational tasks related to policy issuance and account management.
  • Ensure accurate file documentation and compliance with company procedures and underwriting guidelines.
  • Provide professional and responsive service to brokers, agents, and internal business partners.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business, insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous insurance industry experience preferred, particularly in underwriting support, policy administration, or broker operations.
