Associate's Degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 3 (Hourly)
Position Description:
The Research Assistant III in the School of Medicine Department of Infectious Disease primary responsibilities will include conducting participant screenings, collecting and entering data into database systems, enrolling patients in ongoing studies, and performing follow-up assessments. The role also involves collecting specimens for testing and organizing research data for journal publications. Additionally, the Research Assistant III will support statistical research by charting and analyzing data, preparing and maintaining study-related files and records, and assisting in the dissemination of findings. This position will also provide training sessions on EMR systems and REDCap databases for participants in the Division's internship program.
This position may require operating a University vehicle to perform job-related duties. Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in various Division studies by collecting patient data, charting, preparing, and maintaining study related database and making revisions as needed.
  • Support the compilation, entry, tabulation, and analysis of data gathered from studies and site visits.
  • Conduct patient interviews, enroll participants into research studies, and perform follow-up interviews as required.
  • Collect and process lab specimens in accordance with study protocols.
  • Train staff and interns on different Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and REDCap database systems.
  • Collect clinical protocols for submission to IRB.
  • Travel to hospitals or testing sites to conduct patient enrollment, screening, data collection, and testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with clinical research.

  • Advanced organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point skills.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
