Job description

Job Title: Nurse Recruiter
Location: Washington DC 20037, Fully Onsite, (5 days per week) (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
Duration: 3 Months Contract (Possible extension)
Shift Timings: Mon – Fri , 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Pay rate: $40 - $45/hr. on W2
About the Role:
The Nurse Recruiter oversees the full-cycle recruitment process for nursing talent, partnering with the HR Director (HRD) and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to develop sourcing strategies, build talent pools, attract qualified candidates, and support timely hiring. The role manages recruitment activities, candidate relationships, recruitment metrics, compliance, and hiring events while supporting the hospital’s staffing and retention objectives.
Roles & responsibilities:
  • Partner with HRD, CNO, nursing administration, and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment plans.
  • Source nursing candidates through job boards, social media, colleges/universities, career fairs, open houses, networking, and other recruitment channels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with nursing programs, external organizations, and recruitment partners.
  • Review requisitions and applications; evaluate qualifications, work history, education, skills, and compensation requirements.
  • Conduct behavioural-9based interviews, reference checks, and license verification; screen and refer qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Communicate job duties, compensation, benefits, schedules, policies, and employment opportunities to candidates.
  • Coordinate offers, transfers, promotions, orientation, pre-employment physicals, and completion of new-hire files.
  • Develop recruitment advertising and marketing strategies and evaluate their effectiveness for hard-to-fill positions.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment records while ensuring ATS data integrity and compliance with hospital policies.
  • Prepare weekly recruitment activity, vacancy, and data analysis reports.
  • Monitor recruitment costs, minimize agency fees, and assist with the annual recruitment budget.
  • Track retention trends and recommend strategies to improve retention in assigned departments.
  • Train managers and supervisors on ATS usage and interview and selection procedures.
  • Maintain contractor files and ensure compliance with hospital requirements.
  • Attend local and regional job fairs, hiring events, nursing organization meetings, and educational institution events.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience in healthcare, preferably acute care.
  • Must have in-hospital experience
  • Advanced experience with ATS, HRIS, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using social media, niche job sites, networking, and other channels to source nursing talent.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and resolve complex recruitment issues.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, EEO regulations, and compliant interview and selection practices.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field required.
