Overview

William Charles Electric, a MasTec Company, is hiring for a Project Scheduler to support our Electrical Infrastructure group. This position is responsible for planning & scheduling efforts on multiple electrical projects across the William Charles business. This will also include supporting the company business model and providing recommendations based on delivery, data analytics, trend information and reporting.


Location Details: This position reports out of our Rockford, IL office.

Responsibilities
  • Prior to project start, assist in creating the baseline schedule for the project detailing the sequence of all work to be performed
  • Interpret and read detailed construction plans, specifications and contract requirements to develop a clear understanding of project scope
  • Work with the pre-construction group to assist in meeting schedule and timeline requirements
  • Maintain the schedule for a project and identify and record the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled
  • Work with the project teams to evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates, including submission to the owner
  • Interface with Operations and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems
  • Effectively communicate with the Contractor regarding all schedule/progress related matters and concerns
  • Serve as technical advisor for the solution of difficult production problems
  • Consult the appropriate project team members and estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work
  • Travel to project sites as needed to evaluate schedule progress; report status to the project and company leadership
  • Assist Project Managers in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine Impact on the project schedule, and help resolve any schedule problems
  • Provide information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedule
  • Maintain knowledge of MasTec’s company values and strategic plan
  • Support published corporate policies
  • Perform additional assignments per management’s direction

Qualifications
  • 3 years of construction Scheduling experience in the field with a focus on electrical work (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field from an accredited institution. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Scheduling experience and/or training
  • Experienced in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries. Ability to effectively present information to management
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to travel to project sites for meetings and update
