Job description

This is a fully remote position and we're considering candidates in the US EST.

About Product Management:
As a Product Manager at Grafana Labs, you'll develop a vision and strategy for your product domain. You will own your product's roadmap, collateral, and market research, and you will collaborate with Grafana leadership on fine-tuning your product's goals. You will be the primary advocate and expert in your area, with a strong ability to communicate needs, functionality, and details effectively both to external customers and internal stakeholders. The teams and people you will be interacting with will be 100% remote and globally distributed, so strong and proactive communication is essential.

Product Managers are the bridge that connect Engineering, Design, and UX to GTM. You are a facilitator who ensures the free flow of information across these teams and are expected to be technically proficient when representing our products to our customers.

The opportunity:

As the Senior Product Manager for Infrastructure Observability (Infra O11y) you'll be responsible for our most popular Grafana Cloud products that span the infrastructure suite: Kubernetes Monitoring and Cloud Provider Observability. Infra O11y provides our customers with the ability to easily monitor their core services - from our smallest self-serve customers to our largest enterprise customers.

Your primary responsibility will be to help define the vision and ensure the long-term success of Infra O11y, working with your engineering partners to fine-tune product strategy. You will be charting the path forward for net-new product initiatives - like Host Monitoring - balanced with maintaining a strong roadmap and customer satisfaction for our most mature products.

Your role will require heavy customer discovery, understanding user needs, and building consensus and alignment across several Engineering groups and many stakeholders as we look towards simplifying our broader Infra O11y experience for Grafana Cloud. You will also need to flex your GTM muscles and build conviction in areas like competitive analysis and sales enablement to better inform activities like pricing and packaging.

Beyond driving your individual product area, you'll also need to ensure that the experiences you're building are tightly woven into our overall Grafana Cloud suite of products, by establishing integration touchpoints with other key offerings like Grafana Cloud Knowledge Graph and Grafana Assistant, so that our customers have a seamless monitoring experience where they can easily navigate between different layers of their architecture through guided explorations and natural language.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Transform ideas and feedback into a product vision and roadmap
  • Empathize with customer problems in order to collect user needs, requirements, and pain points
  • Curate and properly represent user feedback to Engineering, while providing evidence to support tradeoffs and priorities
  • Work closely with PMM to enable GTM on product differentiation, including creating and updating presentations, documentation, website content, datasheets, and whitepapers.
  • Use your deep product expertise to make decisions about our go-to-market strategies, pricing, packaging, licensing and tiering
What makes you a great fit:
  • A BS/BA in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management
  • 5+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS product
  • Experience using or building developer-facing tools, APIs, or platform services
  • Ability to discuss APIs, data models, schema evolution, and distributed systems concepts
  • Experience driving adoption of shared services or platform capabilities across multiple product teams
  • Experience working with Engineering and Design teams build delightful products and features - with sounds UX - in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with open source software and/or commercial open source companies
  • Experience using or building observability products and/or developer tools, either internally as an SRE or for external customers
  • Proficient with infrastructure concepts and components - like Kubernetes, Cloud Service Providers, and VMs - and able to articulate these models in human-readable terms
  • Experience with AI tools
