POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Control Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that the right jobs, materials, and information are in the right place at the right time. This position actively manages job flow through the shop, tracks open orders, communicates status updates to internal stakeholders and customers, and intervenes quickly when jobs are at risk of missing schedule. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented communicator who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and is comfortable operating in both ERP systems and on the shop floor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor open work orders in Epicor ERP daily; identify jobs at risk of missing due dates and take immediate action to recover schedule.

• Expedite jobs through the shop by coordinating with machinists, operators, and supervisors to prioritize critical work.

• Track and communicate job status to internal stakeholders, the planning team, and customers as needed.

• Coordinate with receiving, inspection, and purchasing to expedite incoming materials for hot jobs.

• Maintain and update job schedules in Epicor; adjust sequences and priorities based on real-time shop floor conditions.

• Communicate customer delivery updates proactively — flag delays early and provide revised commit dates with operations input.

• Work closely with the Production Planner / Scheduler to align daily execution priorities with the master schedule.

• Assist in tracking key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and past-due orders.

• Perform regular shop floor walks to verify job status, gather completion updates, and identify bottlenecks.

• Handle all work in compliance with ITAR and export control regulations; maintain appropriate handling of technical data and controlled information.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• 3–6 years of expediting, scheduling, or production control experience in a manufacturing environment — precision machining or aerospace/defense preferred.

• Experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience a strong plus.

• Ability to read and interpret job travelers, routers, and work orders.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging directly with operators, supervisors, and customers.

• High sense of urgency with strong organizational and follow-through skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) in compliance with ITAR regulations.

Preferred:

• Experience in an ITAR-regulated or defense supply chain environment.

• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards.

• Understanding of CNC machining processes and manufacturing lead time drivers.
