Job Description Job Description About Superior For over 25 years, Superior Industrial Maintenance Co. has been one of the leading nationwide industrial coating and linings, tank, terminal, and pipeline repair, as well as lead/asbestos abatement contractors. We provide turnkey services for the power generation, military & commercial aviation fuel, chemical, industrial, food & beverage, and water industries. About the Role Superior Industrial Maintenance Company is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a full-time role on-site in Concord, NC. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing payroll, creating reports, managing payroll records, and responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll. This role will report to our accounting department. Other Responsibilities: Responsible for weekly processing of employee wages and inputting employee pay data each pay period, working with managers to ensure employee time is accurately collected and recorded through use of the approved systems. Responsible for payroll taxes, unemployment claims, garnishments and working with state and federal agencies regarding payroll tax processing, including 940/941 quarterly filing. Utilize Superior's payroll systems and become a master user in payroll processing systems. Complete audits, process taxes and other deductions, keep and maintain an organized record of data, respond to inquiries and resolve issues, and tally employee work hours. Other payroll duties as assigned. Works to achieve accurate, complete, and timely support of payroll process. Responsible for providing payroll support for all employees. Work in collaboration with HR department to verify correct set up of benefit deductions in payroll system. Provide technical, operations, and training support to manager's using payroll system through documentation of processes and delivering end user training in an understandable context for all levels of users; communicate changes and enhancements as required. Prepare standard and complex reports using the systems as needed. Assist in performing internal and external system audits to ensure data integrity and efficient processing of payroll data. Work successfully as part of a team to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external customers. Maintain and monitor PTO balances. Perform all eligibility/tracking for benefits/paid-time off (PTO) utilizing available tools. Manage year-end W-2 audit/corrections and distribution. Responsible for a wide range of administrative services including but not limited to payroll admin, payroll disbursements, report writing and continuous process improvements. Reconciliations of the general ledger for all Payroll related accounts. Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required 2+ years of experience in multi-state payroll administration required. Excellent knowledge of best practices and federal/state regulations and guidelines. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel knowledge. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills Able to handle confidential information. Decisive, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Team player with a strong work ethic. Strong organizational skills for deadline-driven environments. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Experience in HRIS platforms such as Vista Viewpoint, ADP or similar. General accounting administration and accounts receivable preferred.
