Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented US Payroll Specialist to join our North American Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of complex, multi-site payrolls within a manufacturing environment. You will serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, manage general accounting reconciliations, and ensure adherence to internal controls and tax compliance.
Core Objectives
  • Payroll Processing: Execute accurate and timely processing for both hourly and salaried employees, including special calculations and retroactive adjustments.
  • System Integrity: Serve as a power user for payroll platforms, managing system interfaces, master-file audits, and data integrity.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure payroll activities align with union contracts, labor policies, and statutory taxation requirements.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly payroll-related general ledger reconciliations and provide support during internal and external audits.
  • Stakeholder Support: Act as a resource for employees regarding pay details, deductions, and short-term disability payments.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 2-5 years of dedicated payroll experience, ideally within a complex, multi-site manufacturing setting.
  • Core Systems: Required proficiency in UKG (formerly Kronos). Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP (General Ledger), and Workday is highly desired.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (specifically pivot tables and data manipulation). Ability to manage documentation across various formats (PDF, Word, Excel).
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of general accounting principles and the ability to reconcile payroll interfaces with financial systems.
