Job description

Payroll Administrator

Remote, US (North Texas preferred) | Full Time, Exempt

Are you a payroll pro who loves precision, problem-solving, and making sure every employee gets paid right, every time? Ever.Ag is looking for a Payroll Administratorย to take ownership of our end-to-end payroll operations - and to be a key partner across benefits, Open Enrollment, and Leave of Absence management.

This role is a great fit for someone who's detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable moving fluidly across multiple payroll and HR systems. Experience with Workday and Deel is a real plus, but if you've built your expertise on other platforms, we want to hear from you too.

What You'll Do

You'll own end-to-end U.S. payroll across bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and/or monthly cycles - processing earnings, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, taxes, adjustments, and off-cycle payments for a multi-state workforce. You'll also support our global payroll processes, coordinating with international providers to make sure our team members around the world get paid accurately and on time.

Behind the scenes, you'll reconcile payroll, dig into discrepancies, and prepare payroll reports and journal entries. You'll support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities (including W-2s), and keep us compliant with federal, state, and local payroll regulations every step of the way.

Beyond payroll, you'll play a meaningful role in People Operations. You'll administer employee benefits - medical, dental, vision, retirement, HSA/FSA, life, and disability - and help lead our annual Open Enrollment, from employee communications to elections, system updates, and reconciliation. You'll also coordinate Leaves of Absence, including FMLA, disability, parental, and state-specific leaves, guiding employees through the process with clarity and care.

You'll be a trusted, friendly resource for employees with payroll, benefits, and leave questions, and you'll partner closely with People Operations, Finance, IT, and outside vendors to solve problems and improve how we work. If you spot a manual process that could be smarter, faster, or more automated, you'll have the support to make that happen.

What You Bring
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of payroll experience, with demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Strong multi-state payroll experience and solid knowledge of payroll compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with benefits administration, Open Enrollment, and Leave of Absence management.
  • Comfort working across multiple payroll, HRIS, benefits, and timekeeping systems - Workday experience is preferred, and Deel or global payroll experience is a plus.
  • Strong Excel, reconciliation, reporting, and analytical skills.
  • CPP or FPC certification is a nice-to-have, not required.
You'll Thrive in This Role If You

Have sharp attention to detail and genuinely enjoy solving problems. Take payroll compliance and confidentiality seriously. Communicate clearly and bring a service mindset to every interaction - whether you're helping a colleague understand their pay stub or walking someone through a leave request. Stay calm, organized, and on top of deadlines even when juggling a lot at once.
