The Workday Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing and executing the company’s payroll
operations within the Workday HCM system. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing in
compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The administrator will serve as a key liaison
between HR, and Finance, ensuring data integrity, audit readiness, and seamless payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and process biweekly payrolls through Workday Payroll, ensuring accuracy,
timeliness, and compliance with company policies and all U.S. tax and labor laws.
Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations,
compensation changes, garnishments, and deductions.
Review and validate time, attendance, and leave data prior to payroll submission.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax withholding, wage, and hour regulations.
Reconcile payroll data and general ledger accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies.
Manage and process year-end reporting, including W-2s, and other required filings.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a
timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to ensure alignment between payroll,
compensation, and benefits deductions.
Responsible for reconciling payroll registers with 401(k) contribution files, uploading and
verifying data in the vendor portal, processing timely wires aligned with payroll dates, and
maintaining accurate documentation for audit compliance.
Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
Participate in Workday system updates, configuration testing, and troubleshooting to maintain
payroll accuracy and system efficiency.
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes through automation,
reporting, and system enhancements.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of payroll administration experience, including 3 years using Workday
Payroll in a corporate environment.
In-depth knowledge of U.S. payroll practices, including FLSA, FICA, multi-state taxation, and
wage and hour compliance.
Experience with multi-state payroll and compliance strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation).
Strong understanding of payroll reporting, tax filing, and reconciliation.
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, time management, and accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and
handle sensitive information with discretion.
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) preferred.
