The Pacific Club is one of Orange County's premier private clubs, recognized for exceptional dining, personalized service, and outstanding member experiences. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Pastry Chef to join our talented culinary team.ย 



Position Summary

The Assistant Pastry Chef assists the Executive Pastry Chef in producing exceptional desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods for members, private events, and special functions. This position supports menu development, production, quality control, inventory management, staff training, and food safety while maintaining The Pacific Club's high standards of quality, presentation, and member service.


Reports to: Executive Pastry Chef & ย Executive Chef


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef with menu development, recipe creation, production planning, quality control, inventory management, ordering, and cost control.
  • Prepare, bake, and present pastries, desserts, breads, and specialty items for restaurant service, banquets, and special events while maintaining established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Coordinate pastry production to ensure the timely execution of restaurant and banquet service while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Inspect ingredients, finished products, and incoming deliveries to ensure freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Maintain inventory levels, proper product rotation, organization, and sanitation throughout the pastry operation.
  • Assist with training and mentoring culinary staff on pastry production, recipes, presentation standards, and kitchen procedures.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver exceptional products and member experiences while adapting to changing business demands.
  • Maintain professionalism, follow Club policies and safety standards, and perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and Club operations.



Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, approximately 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Education: Culinary Degree, Culinary Certificate, or equivalent professional pastry experience.


Experience: Three to five years of professional pastry experience in a fine dining, private club, luxury hotel, or upscale restaurant environment.


Certifications: Valid California Food Handler Card.
