Job description

Lake of the Pines Homeowners Association (LOP) is accepting applications for the position of Pastry Chef. Must have early morning to early afternoon availability.ย 

Lake of the Pines is a 2,000-home gated private community located in the foothills of Northern California between the towns of Auburn and Grass Valley. Among its numerous amenities, the community boasts of a 230-acre private lake and a 19-hole golf course as two of its prime amenities. This is a part time hourly position with a salary range ofย $21.89 - $24.89ย per hour. Benefits include sick leave after initial eligibility requirements are met as well as facility use privileges including swimming pool, beaches, parks, tennis and discounted meals. Pre-employment background search required following conditional offer of employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage the pastry section of the kitchen, working together with the other chefs
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods
  • Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a visually appealing way
  • Develop new seasonal recipes and keep up with the latest trends
  • Knowledge of how baking ingredients work together and how they can be used in creative ways
  • Monitor the stock of baking ingredients, supplies and equipment
  • Ability to demonstrate experience with common kitchen equipment and tools
  • Maintain health and cleanliness standards set for all equipment, food storage and food handling areas of both kitchensย 
  • Perform duties with the responsibility to get along and work effectively with others.ย 
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED requiredย 
  • One-year related experience or training
  • Working knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making processย 
  • Demonstrated ability to make bread preferred
  • Must have early morning to early afternoon availability
