As Brown Haven scales toward 1,000+ homes a year, our finance function is scaling right along with it. The Assistant Controller is an important addition to our finance team, working directly with the Head of Finance to bring structure, rigor, and GAAP-level precision to a fast-growing homebuilding company. You'll own the monthly close, lead our external financial statement audits, and serve as a trusted technical resource as we standardize accounting policy across a multi-entity organization. This is a role for someone who wants to build strong financial processes from the ground up.

Playbook for Success:
  • Lead monthly financial close. Own the close process end-to-end, driving toward faster, cleaner closes every month.
  • Lead annual financial statement audits. Work with our external audit firm, owning deliverables from planning through fieldwork to final statements.
  • Assist with annual tax preparation. Support our external CPA firm with the information and analysis needed for accurate, on-time tax filings.
  • Assist with accounting policy and technical GAAP analysis. Partner with the Head of Finance to design and implement company accounting policy and evaluate technical accounting positions affecting the financial statements.
  • Assist with monthly profit reporting. Support reporting of profit results to local offices, including budget-vs-actual analysis of operating results.
  • Assist with financial forecasting. Help build forecasts of projected revenue and profit to support company planning.
