Assistant Controller Atlanta, GA (Hybrid) We are currently recruiting on behalf of an industry-leading, international organization seeking a high-impact Assistant Controller to join its Accounting & Finance leadership team. This is a highly visible role within a large, well-capitalized company known for its strong culture, internal promotion track record, and long-term growth orientation. Position Overview The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the general ledger accounting function, financial reporting, and close processes while partnering closely with senior leadership. This leader will manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, support audits, drive process improvements, and contribute to financial planning and analysis initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and acting as a strategic business partner.

Key responsibilities include: Lead and develop the general ledger accounting team Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Support internal and external audit activities Partner cross-functionally on FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Identify and drive continuous process improvements and efficiencies Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies Present financial insights and analysis to executive leadership Mentor and develop staff with a focus on talent growth and retention Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in both public and corporate accounting, along with demonstrated leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Accounting preferred) CPA designation (or actively pursuing) Public accounting experience (audit) at a national firm Corporate accounting experience within a complex organization 7–9+ years of progressive accounting experience Proven experience leading teams and driving process improvements Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills Demonstrated track record of career progression and job stability Note: This position requires candidates to be local to the Atlanta, GA market.
