JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position is to provide financial and accounting support and management for multiple Home Owner Associations. Financial support and management is defined as maintaining financial and accounting records for multiple HOA’s and the associated management company within the timeshare industry. This position must be able to lead the annual budgeting and billing processes, review and approve journal entries, assist with the monthly close process, produce financial statements timely and accurately with variance analysis. A clear understanding of generally accepted accounting principles is required. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for annual budget preparation and associated owner invoicing
  • Review and post monthly/year end journal entries
  • Prepare, review and provide variance analysis of monthly financials
  • Support the annual external audits for all HOA’s and associated management company 
  • Assist the Controller with various ad hoc analysis and operational reports for board meetings
  • Support the financial leadership with ad hoc requests
  • Manage chart of accounts
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliation
  • Provides support and direction to Staff Accountants
  • Review various monthly schedules prepared by accountants (prepaid maintenance and insurance etc.)
  • Additional tasks as assigned


 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Eight plus years of accounting experience (homeowner associations preferred)
  • Dependability and ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Computer knowledge and experience with MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Accounting software including SAP, Great Plains, Peachtree and Quickbooks or similar accounting programs
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills (i.e., attention to detail, accurate data entry, takes appropriate initiative).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
