) Bayside Health & Rehabilitation Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia is seeking a high energy Part Time Activities Assistant who will assist in the coordination and implementation of recreational activities for the patients of our health and rehabilitation facility. Our team members have the opportunity to do meaningful work, and the opportunity to put a personal touch on improving the lives of others. Activities Assistant Job Responsibilities:
  • The Activities Assistant assists in the planning, conducting, and evaluating of scheduled activities within a very successful Activities Department.
  • Lead group activities, maintain attendance records, and collect oral histories as directed by the Activities Director.
  • Complete patient assessments, progress notes, and care plans as directed by the Activities Director.

Activities Assistant Requirement:
  • An associate degreed (2 years) individual who qualifies as an Activities professional via (2) two years of experience in a social or recreational program.
  • Certification by the National Council for Activity Professionals or other recognized accrediting body.
  • Completion of a state-approved activities training course.

Preferred Requirement: A four-year college degreed individual who is qualified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional.
