Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday โ€“ Friday (11:00 AM โ€“ 7:00 PM) & two Saturdays a month
Pay Rate: $21.85 per hour

Are you passionate about empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live their fullest lives?

Clearbrook, a leading non-profit social services agency, is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and organized professional to join our CILA team as an Activities Manager.

The Activities Manager has the responsibility of developing, coordinating, and facilitating client activities. They provide training and support regarding activities to direct care staff, tailor activities to client abilities and preferences, and maintain good working relationships with community resources.

What You Will Do:

  • Create & Coordinate: Develop and facilitate a wide variety of client activities, including assessing requests, planning for holidays/weekends, and distributing a monthly community activity calendar.
  • Evaluate & Adapt: Review activities monthly to focus on client satisfaction, highlight successes, overcome barriers, and implement client recommendations.
  • Community Outreach: Actively reach out to community partners to build relationships and secure new opportunities or resources for persons with disabilities.
  • Support & Train: Ensure that activity requirements are reasonable and clearly communicated to direct care staff, and assist with Clearbrook client advocacy groups.

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to perform a two-person lift.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable by Clearbrook.
  • Ability to pass an 8th-grade literacy test, pre-employment physical/drug test, TB test, and an Illinois state criminal background check with no disqualifying conditions.

Preferred:

  • Some college education.
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities in a recreational therapy setting.
  • Knowledge of community resources for persons with disabilities.
