Job description

Do you want to have a positive impact on people’s lives? Do you love planning and coordinating activities? Come put your enthusiasm to work with individuals with developmental disabilities. As Activities Coordinator, you will conduct group and individual recreational activities according to an individual’s needs, capabilities, and interests.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful group activities with focus on emphasizing the preferences of individuals served.
  • Provide daily instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods and techniques as well as at staff meetings.
  • Determine and implement necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the care and safety of individuals served.
  • Maintain curriculum binders for each classroom to ensure that varied and age-appropriate activities are planned and conducted for all individuals served.

Activities Coordinator 

  • $18.00-$21.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • 32 hours/week
  • Monday-Friday; 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Driver's license required 
  • Certification in Activity Coordinator preferred or 2+ years of experience

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Activity Coordinator preferred
  • Two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled adults, including planning and conducting activities for this population
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with car registration and vehicle insurance
  • All state-required training and certification completed in mandated timeframes
  • Reliable, responsible, and caring nature
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
