Manager of Recreational & Fitness Programming

Summary
Establishes and manages comprehensive intramural and fitness programs
Essential Job Functions
  • Serves as the primary athletics liaison and works collaboratively with Student Engagement office to maintain necessary compliance standards for all university club sports programs
  • Researches trends and new initiatives in order to develop fitness and intramural programming that aligns with student interests
  • Develops fitness programming based on student interest, including hiring instructors and securing facilities
  • Develops and conducts surveys of student population and utilizes feedback to make adjustments, as needed, to intramural and fitness programming
  • Manages and assists student organizations with the coordination of club sport athletic schedules, facility assignments and collaborative opportunities with varsity athletics
  • Develops and implements marketing plans to promote intramural and recreational sports and fitness programming
  • Assists with game day operations for varsity athletics home games, as needed
  • Prepares and monitors departmental budget
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in intramural and/or recreation programming, club sports, coaching, collegiate playing or other related experience
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certification, or willingness to attain such certification(s) upon hire
