Activities Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our recreation team at Woodlake at Tolland, a short and long-term care facility in Tolland, Connecticut. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing activities designed to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of our residents.

As an Activities Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and programming that promotes resident engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a variety of recreational activities, including games, arts and crafts, and social events

  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents to understand their interests and preferences

  • Prepare and distribute monthly activity calendars to residents and staff

  • Assist with resident outings and special events

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans

  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules

  • Provide support to residents in daily living activities

  • Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, providing transportation for residents, assisting with mealtime activities, and supporting other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous recreation experience in a SNF or long-term care setting is preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and move independently throughout the facility

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
