Job description

Our client, is seeking a litigation legal assistant who has experience with discovery for their Claim Discovery Specialist role in Newark, New Jersey.
  • Review and analyze claimant files for completeness and eligibility
  • Manage Plaintiff Fact Sheets (PFS), questionnaires, and other discovery materials
  • Track deadlines, deficiencies, and case requirements
  • Collect and evaluate medical, pharmacy, and related records
  • Coordinate follow-ups with claimants to obtain missing documentation
  • Assist in preparing discovery responses and supporting evidence
  • Ensure compliance with court-ordered discovery and Case Management Orders
  • Serve as a main point of contact for claimants throughout the discovery process

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with large-scale discovery and civil litigation procedures
  • Background in mass torts, product liability, personal injury, or medical malpractice
  • Strong skills in medical record review and legal documentation analysis
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking abilities

Role Details
  • Full-time, onsite (5 days a week)
  • Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Compensation: $50,000-$60,000 based on experience.
Physical Requirements โ€ข Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations โ€ข Work is generally performed sitting, talking, hearing, and typing โ€ข This is a high-volume screen-based role, requiring constant, prolonged computer usage, including but not limited to: reviewing documents, managing visual content, and attending virtual meetings โ€ข Visual acuity required for computer use, data analysis, and extended reading โ€ข Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer โ€ข Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and document handling โ€ข Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching โ€ข Ability to lift and carry items weighting up to 15 pounds
