Job description

Discovery Clerk

Based in Los Angeles, BD&J is California's leading personal injury law firm, with over $2 billion recovered for our clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented Discovery Clerk to support our litigation team with discovery processes, case management, and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced legal environment. This is a full-time, onsite position at our Los Angeles office.

Location: 11175 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025

Hourly Rate: $25-25


Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with discovery tasks, including preparing and organizing documents with guidance from attorneys and paralegals
  • Help draft basic correspondence, such as meet and confer letters, using templates and attorney feedback
  • Track deadlines, schedule depositions, and maintain calendars for case-related activities
  • Organize and maintain case files, including tracking discovery requests and responses
  • Review documents to help identify key information for cases
  • Communicate with clients to gather missing or necessary information
  • Support attorneys and paralegals with day-to-day case needs
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties as needed by the department

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
  • 1+ years of experience with discovery
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn case management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
