About the role:

We are seeking an exceptional Strategic Accounts Director to join our Strategic Accounts team. This role will report to VP, Strategic Accounts. This role is critical for retaining and upselling some of Garner's largest employer clients (1,000 - 5,000), ensuring they have an excellent experience and achieve expected results. The Director becomes a trusted strategic partner on plan design, bending cost trends, and driving plan performance, ultimately driving improved Net Revenue Retention and other KPIs for their book of business.

Where you will work:

Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is available for individuals who are comfortable with remote work and occasional travel to HQ. Travel up to 25% of the time is expected.

What you will do:

  • Own the process to retain and upsell some of Garner's largest employer clients (1,000 - 5,000 lives)
  • Collaborate with account managers to ensure important clients have an excellent experience
  • Become our client's trusted strategic partner on plan design, bending cost trends and driving plan performance
  • Establish and manage some of the most important strategic broker and client relationships
  • Monitor overall client health and execute strategic plans to proactively address key account risks
  • Work with clients to resolve strategic problems and ensure Garner is delivering value to the employer's health plan and members
  • Collaborate with product, data, and technology teams to deliver customized reports and presentations demonstrating the value and ROI of Garner

The ideal candidate has:

  • 7+ years of experience in a commercially-oriented account management or sales role in the employee benefits space
  • Deep health plan design and benefits knowledge, including experience advising large and Enterprise employer clients on benefits strategy and cost performance
  • Proven results of achieving retention and upsell targets year over year
  • A self-starter with the strong desire to work in an ambiguous, rapidly evolving, and fast-paced startup environment with notable upside
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Problem solver in ambiguous situations

Compensation Transparency:

The target total comp (inclusive of base + bonus) range for this position is $190,000 - $250,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation and variable compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k) with company match, flexible spending accounts, Teladoc Health and more.
