Job description

Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team in Chula Vista, California.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in distribution accounting, irrigation supply, construction supply, manufacturing, logistics, waterworks, or industrial environments who understands fast-paced operational workflows and customer/vendor support.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate professionally in both English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Process accounts payable invoices, vendor statements, payment reconciliations, and freight invoices
โ€ข Manage accounts receivable activities including invoicing, collections, cash applications, aging reports, and customer account follow-up
โ€ข Handle contractor collections, customer payment communications, and account resolution support
โ€ข Assist with project-based billing, inventory-related accounting support, and distribution accounting activities
โ€ข Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, and Purchasing teams regarding billing, freight, and payment matters
โ€ข Review purchase orders, freight charges, landed costs, shipping documentation, and supporting records for accuracy
โ€ข Support customer credit management, credit holds, and account reconciliations
โ€ข Maintain accurate records within SAP and company accounting systems
โ€ข Assist with month-end accounting support and reporting activities
โ€ข Respond professionally to vendor and customer inquiries in both English and Spanish
โ€ข Support administrative and accounting functions as assigned

Qualifications:
โ€ข 3+ years of Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable experience preferred
โ€ข SAP experience required (SAP Business One experience preferred)
โ€ข Bilingual English/Spanish required
โ€ข Experience in irrigation distribution, landscape supply, industrial supply, logistics, manufacturing, construction supply, or waterworks industries strongly preferred
โ€ข Experience with distribution accounting, inventory accounting, freight reconciliation, or contractor accounts preferred
โ€ข Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills
โ€ข High attention to detail and organizational skills
โ€ข Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
โ€ข Professional communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
โ€ข Experience in inventory-based, project-based, or distribution environments
โ€ข Experience supporting contractor accounts, freight allocations, and vendor reconciliations

Compensation Range:
$28.00 โ€“ $38.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, SAP proficiency, and industry background.
