THE JOB / Account Trainee (Golf) (Payment Services Client)

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon's client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

Octagon is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Account Trainee to assist with managing one of the largest sponsorship portfolios in golf! The candidate will play an integral role in assisting with the management, implementation, and tracking of a robust U.S. golf sponsorship portfolio. The position will involve tracking sponsorship elements, liaising with vendors, and coordination of website content development and asset management. This position will allow someone to learn the strategy and planning for a major sponsorship portfolio, support golf events from planning to onsite execution, and interface with partners and clients.

The ideal candidate will be a team player and self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication and process management skills, as well as a strong writing background.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO

  • Build documents such as status reports, tracking documents, and meeting notes
  • Lead on operations and logistics needs for events, including shipping and managing inventory of signage and premiums
  • Assist with inventory, ticketing, and asset processes
  • Conduct research and present on the competitive sponsor and general golf landscape on a regular basis
  • Track all sponsorship programs, record all pertinent metrics and organize in an Excel tracking document throughout the year
  • Work with a team to plan and implement event marketing programs
  • Handle ad hoc special projects as they arise
  • Travel and work on site for activations as needed
  • Other related duties as reasonably assigned

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • An interest or passion for the game of golf is a plus, though not required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 0-1+ years of relevant internship/work experience
  • Ability to take initiative on assignments and grow a dynamic skill set
  • Excellent writing skills and an ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail while prioritizing multiple projects
  • Ability to think creatively and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Sports/event marketing experience and interest preferred
  • A positive attitude with a "no job is too small" approach
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel: Moderate (20-45%)

This position pays minimum wage and is overtime-eligible.
