Job description

Responsibilities
  • Awareness of emerging artists and signing new artists to Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, and Secretly Canadian.
  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the A&R team and championing new artists.
  • Collaborating with artists on the story, visual language, campaign rollout, and post-release momentum.
  • Working with internal teams (project managers, marketing, digital, and radio) to communicate artistsโ€™ vision.
  • Point person and resource for management and artists.
  • Administrative responsibilities may include A&R reports, preparing deal memos, managing delivery checklists and budgets, coordinating A&R meetings, placing invoices, gathering streaming data, managing a database of unsigned artists, and more.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years experience working in the music industry (record label, publisher, management company, booking agency, etc.) with proven success in that role.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, work ethic, communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize.
  • Experience working with artists (performers, songwriters, producers, etc) in a creative space.
  • A track record for discovering & nurturing new artists, as well as a vision for how to maintain successful careers for them.
  • Knowledge & passion of the musical landscape/marketplace, spanning across multiple genres.
  • Extensive network within all levels of developing music, including managers, labels, lawyers, songwriters, and producers.
  • Familiarity with label group roster.
