Lead Workday Financials Engineer | Columbus, Ohio, United States Lead Workday Financials Engineer - Contract-to-Hire Location: Columbus, OH (Remote Eligible) | Job Type: 1099 About the Role Join a dynamic enterprise Finance IT team as a Lead Workday Financials Engineer. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on technical SME ready to architect, code, and deliver robust integrations and custom solutions within Workday Financial Management. Operate at the forefront of innovation, building seamless connections between Workday and critical financial platforms. Your expertise will directly impact the organization's finance operations, while you gain exposure to large-scale, complex enterprise environments. Responsibilities - Design, build, test, and deploy advanced Workday integrations using Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, Core/Cloud Connectors, and REST/SOAP APIs - Develop custom solutions and orchestrations in Workday Extend with hands-on coding - Engineer and support inbound/outbound integrations between Workday Financials and external systems (ERP, procurement, banking, expense, etc.) - Perform data transformations using XML, JSON, XSLT, and calculated fields - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across all environments - Provide technical engineering support for Workday Financials modules: General Ledger (GL), Expense, and Source to Pay (S2P) - Ensure solutions align with finance transaction flows, accounting structures, and data models - Lead technical solution design, code reviews, and mentor fellow engineers - Collaborate with architects, project managers, and functional partners to support end-to-end delivery - Proactively identify opportunities for automation, performance optimization, and stability - Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and integration specs - Stay current on Workday releases, especially enhancements in Financials, Extend, APIs, and Orchestrate Required Skills and Experience - 5+ years of hands-on Workday technical development experience - Expert-level coding in Workday Extend - Deep proficiency with Workday integrations and APIs (REST/SOAP) - Demonstrated experience supporting Workday Financial Management (GL, Expense, Source to Pay) - Strong technical skills with Studio, Orchestrate, XML, JSON, XSLT - Proven ability to operate independently and lead technical delivery within enterprise Finance environments - Fully technical background (not functional) Preferred Skills - BIRT reporting experience for Workday Financials or document outputs - Workday certifications (Financials, Integrations, Extend) - Experience in regulated, large-scale, or highly integrated environments - Successful prior contract-to-hire conversion Benefits - Opportunity for contract-to-hire and long-term career advancement - Exposure to enterprise-level finance technology and transformation projects - Work with a high-performing, collaborative technical team - Flexible work environment - remote eligible How to Apply If you are a technical Workday expert ready to drive integration innovation, apply now with your updated resume.
