POSITION OVERVIEW

The Workday Report Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a wide range of Workday reports and analytics solutions to meet organizational reporting needs. This role works across functional domains to develop custom reports, dashboards, composite reports, and matrix reports, leveraging Workday's native reporting tools and data sources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with functional consultants and end-users to gather and document reporting requirements.
  • Design and develop Workday custom reports including Simple, Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Trending reports.
  • Build and maintain Workday dashboards, worklets, and scorecards for HR, Finance, and Operations consumers.
  • Develop calculated fields and business intelligence objects to support complex reporting logic.
  • Configure report scheduling, distribution groups, and report delivery workflows.
  • Support operational reporting needs including headcount, payroll reconciliation, benefits enrollment, and financial reporting.
  • Develop Workday Discovery Boards and BIRT reports where applicable.
  • Work with Workday Prism Analytics for data blending and advanced analytics scenarios.
  • Document report specifications, data sources, calculated fields, and distribution schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills / Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Workday report development experience
  • Proficiency in Workday Advanced Reports and Composite Reports
  • Strong knowledge of Workday data sources and business objects
  • Ability to create calculated fields and derived data elements
  • Experience supporting HR, Payroll, and Financial reporting needs
  • Excellent communication and requirements-gathering skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Workday Report Writing Certification or Pro designation
  • Experience with Workday Prism Analytics
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or People Analytics
  • SQL or data warehouse experience
  • Data visualization experience (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience in higher education or government reporting environments

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field. Workday Reporting certification preferred.
