COMPANY OVERVIEW


Cercano Management LLC (“Cercano”) is a newly formed SEC-registered investment manager focused on ultra-high net worth clients and the entities associated with those clients, such as a family foundation. Cercano is based in Bellevue, WA, with offices in Minneapolis, MN, and Singapore. Cercano invests globally for its clients, commonly operating as the family office Chief Investment Officer. The team has extensive experience in direct investing in all stages of venture capital, private equity, private credit, and public equities on a global basis.

Cercano offers services for all aspects of a client’s assets or family office. The team also has experience working with clients who have significant investments in non-financial assets on a global scale, such as fine art, professional sports teams, entertainment properties, intellectual property, commercial real estate, farmland, and personal residential estates.


POSITION MISSION

 

This position is responsible for providing support for all financial and performance-related analysis of various investment portfolios of Cercano’s clients. The position will help manage data sources and design systemic reporting solutions within a business intelligence environment for transparency and insights to clients, business partners, and management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Prepare customized performance reports for clients on a regular basis, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Generate and analyze financial performance reports for client investment portfolios, including but not limited to, asset allocation, performance attribution, and risk metrics.
• Develop and maintain reporting templates and dashboards to streamline the reporting process and enhance data visualization.
• Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for client meetings, providing insights into portfolio performance and investment strategies.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis, investment return calculations, and data insights for the investment team and senior management.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to optimize and streamline reporting to clients and other counterparties.
• Review and reconcile various custodial bank accounts to ensure data being used in performance calculations is accurate and ties to accounting data.
• Support the Business Development Team by providing key investment performance, data, and analytical support.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to performance reporting and make recommendations for process improvements.

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability

Required
• Knowledge and curiosity in investment concepts, practices, procedures, management operations, reporting, and data analysis
• Strong understanding of financial markets within all asset classes
• Conceptual and practical understanding of the various performance metrics, such as different money-weighted and time-weighted return methodologies, risk analytics, benchmarking, and asset allocation
• Solid analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Strong communications skills, both oral and written, to interact with team, business partners, advisors, and senior management
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Experience with developing reports in PowerPoint and/or other similar reporting tools
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented, responsive, and accurate

Preferred
• Experience with Addepar
• Financial analysis or performance measurement experience
• Proficient with Bloomberg

Required computer skills
• MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledgeable with PowerBI or similar business intelligence platforms

Education/experience/certifications
• B.A. or B.S. in accounting, finance, economics or other relevant field from accredited institution
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in investment industry, reporting or performance background preferred
• CFA or progress towards CFA designation preferred


SALARY RANGE:   $98,000 - $147,000 on an annual basis. 


SALARY DETAILS:

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including, and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity. Our discretionary bonus program is in addition to the base compensation range listed above.
