Role Overview:

The Sales Estimator is responsible for creating quotes on products based on a list provided by the Takeoff Estimator.

Responsibilities:

• Determines materials and fabrication requirements based on equipment description, layout, specification review, and schedule.
• Collects current costs on materials needed to create finished products.
• Follows up on quotes with customers and provides feedback to management.
• Coordinates work orders with FAB Production Supervisor on orders awarded.
• Develops total project cost summaries, exceptions list, and cost schedule.
• Initiates inquiries for prices from sub trades and suppliers.
• Allocates budget costs and provides project hours summary to establish work order budget.
• Works with engineering, sales, and purchasing during progress of bid preparation.
• Reviews scope of work.
• Develops, organizes, and maintains costing.
• Works with production team to coordinate cost and delivery.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of experience estimating for a similar or related industry.
• Must have fundamental experience in basic fabrication.
• Ability to interface with all teammates and departments within Tri Star.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Strong communications skills (verbal and written) with ability to create strong relationships.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Word and Excel and inventory systems.
• Ability to pass background check, MVR check, and drug test where required.
