Full-time position at The GREEN Program
Location: Flexible, Remote: Based in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Illinois
Compensation: Salary range ($120,000 - $150,000), Employee Stock, Health, Vision, and Dental Benefits, Paid Time Off (PTO), 401k Match, Paid opportunities to travel, 35-hour workweek

Job Summary

The GREEN Program (TGP) is seeking a results-driven leader to join our team as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). As a leader in sustainable travel and experiential education, we are committed to providing life-changing experiences that inspire the next generation of global leaders. The role of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a pivotal part of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer(CEO). You will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of business operations, so we are seeking an accomplished and effective leader. If you also possess exceptional interpersonal abilities, business expertise, and a strong work ethic, we are eager to connect with you.

The primary objective of the COO's role is to ensure the robust operation of the business and foster substantial and sustainable growth at The GREEN Program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the company, ensuring efficient team management and alignment with our mission and values.

  • Drive and oversee initiatives to strategically propel the company's growth, identifying opportunities for expansion and development while ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, values, and long-term objectives.

  • Establish policies and procedures that promote company culture and vision

  • Coach and develop the team across multiple locations and functions to encourage maximum performance and dedication.

  • Collaborate with the CEO as a strategic partner to develop and execute strategic plans that further our mission and expand our global reach.

  • Manages the overall strategy, purpose, and vision of the entire Human Resources function: benefits, payroll, 401k, recruitment, learning and development, culture, performance management, and succession planning

  • Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence within the organization, encouraging a sense of adventure and curiosity in all aspects of our work.

  • Look for methods to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, and improve control measures.

  • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

  • Write and review financial statements, sales, and activity reports to measure productivity and identify areas for improvement.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved.

  • Maintain relationships with partners, vendors, and community.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years as a COO or a similar, senior-level position

  • Proven experience in the tourism sector, with a strong alignment with sustainability and responsible tourism standards.

  • Demonstrated success in scaling small, mission-driven initiatives and companies through marketing and business development.

  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.

  • A clear record of strategic thinking and execution, with the vision to drive our organization to new heights while staying true to our core values.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication: Effective coordination with the CEO, executives, and stakeholders, and conveys the organization's mission and values to internal and external audiences.

  • Team Building & Leadership: Building and managing a strong and cohesive team with a leadership approach that prioritizes building strong relationships, empowering others to reach their full potential, and fostering creativity and problem-solving as a team, ultimately empowering the entire team to thrive and innovate in sustainability, travel, and education spaces.

  • Marketing and Business Development: Utilize strategic marketing and business development initiatives to drive brand awareness, expand market reach, and foster sustainable growth for the organization

  • Growth Mindset & Strategic Development: A growth mindset is critical for facilitating the type of growth goals that TGP strives for. The ability to collaborate with the CEO and team to develop and execute strategic plans that further our mission and expand our global reach is crucial.

  • Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement: Adept at designing and implementing business operations to ensure the efficiency of the company's daily functioning.

  • Innovation and Creativity: Fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence within the organization is essential, encouraging a sense of adventure and curiosity in all aspects of our work.

  • Adaptability and Resilience: Navigating constant change and high-pressure situations requires adaptability and resilience. Strong willingness to learn and adapt to an ever-changing world.

  • Technical Proficiency with CRM, data analysis, and interpretation: The ability to collect and analyze complex data sets to make informed strategic decisions and optimize operational processes. Demonstrated proficiency with CRM systems, email platforms, and other basic management tools and technologies.

  • Vision and Mission Alignment: The ideal candidate should have a clear record of helping scale small, mission-driven initiatives and companies, demonstrating a strong alignment with our mission and values.
