Brentwood Family Service Worker

El Concilio California is searching for a passionate candidate to fulfill the position of a Family Service Worker within our Preschool Department located in Brentwood California. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing recruitment processes to enroll children into the Head Start Program. The Family Service Worker shall constantly have professional communication with parents or guardians of enrolling/enrolled students. The FSW shall organize outreach events in local areas to provide the community with information regarding the Preschool Program. Recruit and enroll children into the Head Start program. Orients parents to the goals and objectives of the program. The FSW shall serve as a liaison between El Concilio California and the community in order to increase community partnerships/participation at our centers. Other responsibilities are to ensure that program services are provided to families by linking families with the services of Health, Disabilities, Nutrition, Social Services, and Mental Health activities of the program.

Employment Type: Part-Time; Non-Exempt (25 hours per week)

Work Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (5 hours per day)

Requirements:

• Background Check
• Department of Justice/FBI/ Child Abuse Index Clearance prior to hire.
• Health Records/Immunizations
• Valid Driver's License.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree is highly preferred. A minimum of one year experience in Child Development, Social Services, or related programs such as community-based social services organizations or preschool programs.

**Must be willing to complete an agency-sponsored Family Development Certification within 18 months of hire or provide documentation of similar certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field.**

Language Skills: Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is highly preferred.
