Referral Coordinator – Bridges to Care and Recovery (BCR)

Salary: $30,000-$45,000 DOE

Location: Hybrid, the candidate will work both in the office and remotely (from the St. Louis region) to accommodate stakeholder meetings and community engagement.

The Behavioral Health Network of Greater St. Louis seeks a Referral Coordinator – Bridges to Care and Recovery (BCR). As the Referral Coordinator, you will be responsible for the project’s life cycle, including its initial scope and implementation. Bridges to Care and Recovery (BCR) mobilizes clusters of churches in North St. Louis City and County to support the behavioral health treatment and recovery of congregants and other community members with behavioral health disorders. As the Referral Coordinator, you will serve as the point of contact for congregations, families, and providers in North St. Louis City and County regarding services to include outreach activity, referrals to service providers, and coordination with providers regarding capacity for referrals. The Referral Coordinator will plan, attend, and execute events and will assist the team in keeping partners and volunteers engaged. Additionally, you may assist with training and offering technical assistance as well as creating, compiling, and developing meeting toolkits. The Referral Coordinator works closely with the faith community and may require periodic evening or weekend events.

BHN is a collaborative effort of providers, advocacy organizations, government leaders, and community members dedicated to developing an accessible and coordinated system of behavioral healthcare throughout the eastern region of Missouri, with emphasis on services to the uninsured and underinsured citizens of St. Louis City and the Missouri counties of Franklin Jefferson, Lincoln, St. Charles, St. Louis, and Warren. What you will be doing

  • Provide presentations for community youth groups on coping skills, stress management, and other topics to young people and provide presentations to other Bridges to Care presentations as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with BCR Senior Program Manager to recruit, train, and retain Youth Wellness Champions and ensure presence at all events.
  • Coordinate and oversee the Youth Wellness Champions and provide training and technical assistance for their behavioral health ministry activities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external interdisciplinary agency providers to build healthy partnerships.
  • Assists in the coordination of all youth-related activities and supports the recruitment of new churches for training.
  • Serves as an advocate/referral source to help people understand and utilize community resources available to them.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination. Organize and attend meetings, develop agendas, and submit supply requests. Consult with the supervisor as needed.
  • Attend training and provide presentations as needed.

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with behavioral health, social service programs, or project coordination.
  • 2+ years of experience working with youth/young adults. Strongly prefer experience providing case management or referral/linkage services and documentation, preferably with individuals with mental health and or co-occurring disorders
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in project management, marketing, and public relations are preferred.
  • Comfortability working with a broad range of diverse stakeholders in a community setting.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 and willingness to learn additional programs.

Additional expectations

  • Candidate has access to transportation to participate in meetings throughout the 7-county Missouri Eastern region
  • Will have their primary office at BHN (2 Campbell Plaza, St. Louis, MO, 63139)
