TITLE: Workforce Initiatives Coordinator
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time
POSITION REPORTS TO: Programs & Workforce Strategies Manager
JOB FUNCTIONS
DISCOVERING PATHS MENTORING PROGRAM:
Coordinate the Discovering Paths high school mentoring and career exploration program.
- Develop and maintain a clearance process for new and returning mentors during the recruitment process (PA Criminal History, PA Child Abuse, FBI Background & Fingerprinting);
- Assist with the student and mentor recruitment process by preparing recruitment materials, creating processes, and attending recruitment events, such as in-school informational sessions;
- Manage all program logistics including securing venues, finalizing caterers, tracking participant attendance, and procuring technology, equipment, or other logistical requirements;
- Provide onsite management of guest speakers, exhibitors, and/or vendors during program sessions;
- Lead the program’s volunteer liaisons by providing support, assisting with troubleshooting, and communicating program information;
- Manage pre- and post-session communications with liaisons, mentors, and school facilitators;
- Create agendas, presentations, resources, and program content as needed;
- Support the management of the Discovering Paths Advisory Group;
- Manage participant information – school documentation, mentor information, and student details – and communicate relevant details (i.e., allergies/dietary restrictions to caterers, photo/video restrictions) as needed;
- Utilize Inspire Lancaster to develop and manage job shadowing process that tracks student participation in two job shadows (group or individual) during the Discovering Paths program;
- Coordinate Discovering Paths Industry Tours for students and educators.
INSPIRE PLATFORM:
Manage the Inspire Lancaster platform, updating business information, maintaining contacts, and ensuring that opportunities posted align with the current work-based learning framework.
- Create outreach processes and recruit businesses to participate in the platform and partner with the IU-13 to engage educators with the platform;
- Communicate vision for Inspire Lancaster platform and work-based/experiential learning opportunities;
- Develop onboarding and training materials as needed to ensure a successful experience for educators and businesses;
- Facilitate onboarding and training processes for Inspire participants;
- Provide customer service assistance to users as needed, including assisting educators with identifying appropriate opportunities for students and businesses with appropriate school district partners;
- Identify any bugs or issues on the Inspire Lancaster platform as they become apparent and continually identify potential changes or improvements that may enhance the platform;
- Distribute relevant work-based learning information to platform participants.
ADDITIONAL TASKS:
- Serve as a representative of the Lancaster Chamber at relevant K-12th or post-secondary programming and initiatives (i.e., career exploration fairs, school career fairs, etc.)
- Recruit and manage quarterly Industry Tours for broader Chamber membership.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED DUTIES
- Abide by and follow the Chamber’s internal vision statement.
- Attend all major Chamber Signature Events and other events as requested.
- Attend regular staff meetings, staff development, and staff retreat gatherings.
- Abide by and encourage employees to follow the Lancaster Chamber Employee handbook.
- Represent the Lancaster Chamber in a professional manner while working among the business community.
TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite
- Proficient use of the Chamber’s data base system
- Proficient use of resources to conduct research for the organization
