REPORTS TO: Distribution Center Team Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs manual work inspecting, receiving, loading, and unloading customers’ goods and materials in the warehouse. Verifies and maintains the integrity of goods and materials. Reports to the Warehouse Team Lead.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engages in daily activities of receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, and moving customers’ goods and materials within the warehouse.
• Inspects goods and materials from customer shipments to ensure they arrived complete and free of damage or evidence of tampering. Files OSD (over, short, or damage) forms, and distributes them to the appropriate supervisors and customers. Takes pictures when required.
• Loads and unloads goods using forklift, pallet jack, or similar material handling equipment. Performs inspections of trailers prior to loading; reports any unsafe conditions to Team Lead.
• Reviews and processes shipping or receiving orders and requests; maintains appropriate paperwork, such as bills of lading, air waybills, packing lists, etc. and reports any issues, discrepancies to team lead.
• Inspects and compares materials packing list with physical material labeling. Performs data entry to related inventory control software, Perform inventory control cycle counts.
• Follows safety requirements and completes safety forms and checklists; inspects and utilizes safety equipment, including dock safety equipment, trailer jack, chocks, glad hand locks.
• Maintains a variety of records, files, and reports; operates computer and office equipment to maintain records of stock and order supplies as necessary.
• Suggests and documents process improvement ideas; refers to established procedures pertinent to ISO 2015.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment; audits 5s guidelines and complies with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Assists in providing necessary security within the warehouse; reports unusual, unacceptable, improper, or illegal activities if such occur.
• Performs other related duties as required.
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certification):

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of general warehouse experience.
  

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of warehouse operation, inventory control, and relevant equipment.
• Must have or be able to immediately obtain an approved certification for driving forklift trucks.
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
• Interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• High level of accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Commitment to helping others fulfilling their roles while maintaining a positive environment.
• Knowledge of building evacuation procedures and the ability to assist others during evacuation.
• Ability to follow safety policies and accident prevention procedures.
• Knowledge of concepts and principles of customer service.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Subject to work under extreme weather conditions. May be subjects to moderate noise levels and work outside of the building. High level of flexibility may be required; must be willing to be on-call or report to work after regular work hours.
