Summary: The Kindergarten - 4th Classroom Management Coach and Operations Coordinator at East End Prep will work on the K-4 Leadership team to directly coach teachers and staff on building strong, focused, and inspiring classrooms and other spaces. This role will support and uphold excellence with classroom routines, procedures, and culture practices that provide the foundation for deep learning and mastery of content to ensure all students demonstrate dramatic student achievement gains. This individual will help support the school’s approach to creating a positive, structured, consistent, caring, and disciplined school culture through classroom management coaching and development. This position will serve on the K-4 Leadership Team. Additionally, this role will support the operational needs of the K-4 Team as the overseer of long-term and short-term tactical planning and delegating to ensure a thoughtful and strategic approach to all the ins and outs of a school year.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities for Behavior Management Coaching:

  • Directly coach early service teachers and teachers needing support on classroom management, culture, engagement, and maintaining high and consistent behavior expectations by providing consistent team and individual actionable feedback through targeted observations along with real time feedback in the classroom.
  • Co-lead new teacher culture and behavior management Professional Development. This may include hosting practice clinics or working with teachers individually if additional and regular support is needed.
  • Reinforce the effective use of a school-wide behavior plan, supporting alongside the Dean of Culture, the school’s merit and demerit systems and scaled consequence matrix.
  • Serve as another point person for dealing with acute behavioral issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Culture and Academic Deans on identifying trends and closing gaps related to school culture and classroom management.
  • Proactively circulate throughout classrooms and hallways during the day, to gain valuable context on student behavior and help support positive school culture.
  • Work with the Dean of Culture as needed on particular issues related to school culture and discipline.
  • Work in collaboration with other leaders and the entire team to support and maintain a high-trust, team-first, and inspiring staff culture that puts a high value on the well-being of the team as a whole and as individuals.
  • Dedicated to building a joyful culture with all stakeholders (family, scholars, staff)
  • Work closely with leaders and the entire team to establish a positive, structured, achievement-oriented, and inspiring school culture and monitor student progress toward their goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities for Operation Functions:

  • Serve as the point person for K-4 scheduling and set-up of Parent-Teacher conferences
  • Create and continuously manage the K-4 School Calendar, including the scheduling of family events, family enrichment nights, teacher evaluations, professional development, assessments, etc. Coordinate with K-4 leaders on all events and strategic timing and planning of key times of the year
  • Partner with Sub companies to provide guest educators (substitute teachers) when needed along with coordinating with school leadership on appropriate coverage plans when teachers/leaders are absent.
  • Coordinate with school leaders to update and manage K-4 handbook, including the Team Playbook
  • Partner with school leaders to provide student and family orientation and onboarding for students who join EEP mid-year.
  • Partner with school leaders to help lead the student retention process by consulting appropriate data
  • Coordinate staff communication, parent communication, and other general K-4 communications.

Role Prerequisites

  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in an urban, [charter] setting preferred
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in a management or leadership capacity preferred
  • Proven track record of meeting high standards for student achievement and culture
  • Strong instructional, classroom management and discipline skills
  • Excellent professional communication skills with parents and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to coach teachers around student culture and classroom management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities from a variety of sources, organizing and prioritizing effectively to impact areas of greatest need;
  • Experience organizing and facilitating effective meetings;
  • Ability to deconstruct complex problems and develop coherent, actionable strategies;

Certificates and Licenses:

Tennessee Teacher Certification Preferred
