Job Description

 In search of a dynamic bilingual (English/Spanish) Plant HR Manager for a food manufacturing company in Omaha, NE.

Job Summary:

The Plant HR Manager is a key member of the HR team and is ultimately responsible for serving as the production "people" partner, in a fast paced, diverse, high-volume manufacturing facility.  Responsibilities will include managing all aspects of candidate onboarding, training and development of those that report to this person, but also working under the direction of the VP of HR to build the overall training initiative for the organization.  Will be instrumental in building strong relationships with production leadership, communications and change management, investigations, benefit administration, as well as workforce planning and employee engagement.  

Some key areas of focus for this role:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·       Manage personnel in Plant Human Resources Department

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Participate in the continuous improvement of departmental processes and functions.

·       Assist in the development and execution of talent acquisition strategies for the short and long term.

·       Own and continuously improve the onboarding and orientation programs and processes.

·       Assist in the development and execution of proactive employee engagement programs to ensure high levels of management credibility and business performance.

·       Facilitate change communications in support of production business initiatives and the long-term message of the company.

·       Provide counsel and support to production leadership and employees on HR initiatives and projects.

·       Ensure the consistent, timely and accurate application and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures.

·       Collaborate with managers and supervisors to develop and implement processes and tools that foster higher productivity, quality, safety and improved retention of workforce.

·       Analyze data, trends and metrics and drive positive actions to drive improvement.

·       Provide day-today performance management guidance to the line management; conduct various employee relations investigations, as needed.

·       Other duties, as assigned.

·       Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.

·       Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of food safety, safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations

·       Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

·       Strategic focus coupled with a willingness to engage in day-to-day activities of the Plant HR department.

·       Ability to use HR data and analytics to diagnose trends and link to business performance outcomes

·       Strong change and project management skills

·       Experience of driving culture and engagement strategies & initiatives

·       Strong talent management experience; ability to assess talent gaps and orchestrate the actions needed to strengthen the talent bench

·       Have a good understanding of HR processes and process improvement methodology

·       Experience in working successfully with employees and stakeholders across all levels; strong influencing, supporting and challenging skills

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree  required (preferably in Business with a concentration in Human Resources Management or Communications).

·       Five (5) + years working in Human Resources

·       Minimum of two (2) years working in a food processing facility

·       Minimum of three(3) years managing, motivating and developing groups of employees

·       Microsoft Office Suite experience with an emphasis on strong Excel skills

·       Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is required.

·       SPHR, SHRM-SCP or other relevant HR certification preferred
