Job description

As a Horticultural Technician and Outdoor Plant Care Specialist for Lyndale Plant Services youโ€™ll maintain and enhance commercial interior by meticulously caring for clientโ€™s plant displays. You will assist with the watering and planting of exterior pots and plant beds, as well as being a Horticulture Technician for the warehouse.
Your success will be determined by your ability to provide consistent quality results, your level of reliability and dependability, and a capability to work well with your team (and individually) while maintaining an attitude of enthusiasm and pride. Weโ€™re looking for a full-time professional who is looking to develop themselves within the industry or one who is already an expert in the field.
Responsibilities:
  • The route allocated to you will be repeated on a weekly or biweekly basis.
  • When you arrive you will be checking in with our client and then servicing the plant displays at that location, which includes watering, cleaning, pruning/trimming, fertilizing and pest control.
  • You will then make notes of what plants need replacing, check out with the client and move on to the next account.
  • Each account will be different and could have large trees, atrium spaces, vertical green walls or small flowering desk displays.
  • Assist in watering exterior plants according to established schedules and guidelines.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as pruning, deadheading, and removing debris from plant beds and pots as needed.
  • Work closely with the team to coordinate watering efforts and ensure consistency in plant care.

Be willing to adjust watering schedules and tasks based on changing weather conditions and plant needs.
Qualifications:
  • A love of plants and excellent customer service skills and self-confidence are a must.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 30lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site.
  • Exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). Requires extended periods of activity including walking, standing, kneeling, bending and lifting up to 100% of a workday.
  • As the role requires you to drive every day between our clients sites this position requires a valid driverโ€™s license (free of DUI).
  • Have a reliable vehicle to commute between accounts and to our Bloomington, MN location.
  • Have and maintain a valid Driverโ€™s License.ย 
  • No experience necessary, we will train the right individual.ย
